Päff

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Das Päff is a pub on Friesenwall in Cologne . It was founded in 1968 as a jazz club by Günter Päffgen, one of the Päffgen brothers, and is one of the pubs in Cologne where Päffgen Kölsch is served. In 1993 the management of the restaurant changed to the Cologne artist Michael Kampert . The symbol of the Päff is a Buddha statue called "Mr. Päff" in the comic style of the 1960s. Despite several renovations, care was taken to preserve the design of the original interior from 1968.

The restaurant won the Gastro Award 2009 in the "Classic" category and was the state winner of the taprooms for North Rhine-Westphalia.
