Pål Lydersen (born September 10, 1965 ) is a former Norwegian football player .
The center-back started his career at Start Kristiansand in his native Norway. In 1991, after good performance at his home club, he was signed by the English top club Arsenal . However, the Norwegian could not prevail against the very strong full-backs Lee Dixon and Nigel Winterburn and only played 16 games in two years. Lydersen was passively involved in a tangible scandal in English football. His agent, Rune Hauge, paid then Gunners coach George Graham £ 425,000 to sign him and John Jensen, another player Hauge was representing. In 1994, after this scandal became public, Lydersen moved back to Start Kristiansand. After a year in Norway, he tried briefly in Austria at SK Sturm Graz . The Austrian adventure ended again after a year and the defender let his career come to an end with his home club Start Kristiansand and Molde FK . Lydersen ended his career in 1999. Internationally, he played 20 times for the Norwegian national football team and scored one goal.
