The Pöthener Park is a former manor park in the village of Pöthen, which has belonged to the city of Gommern since 2005 .

The park, which is now open to the public, was part of the adjacent manor house built in 1587 and covers an area of 3.55 hectares. The park is characterized by forest-like trees and many large old trees. There are oaks , beeches , hazel roots and bald cypresses . With the cathedral bridge , the park also has an unusual structure.

Cathedral bridge without a watercourse

The park was characterized by ponds, watercourses and unusual bridges until well into the second half of the 20th century . However, the waters were filled in and the bridges, apart from the preserved cathedral bridge, were torn down. The cathedral bridge spanned a watercourse that connected the former office pond with the former crescent pond. Today the bridge has lost its original function, there is no more water under it.

On the edge of the park there is a children's playground and the local sports field.
