The Pötritzer swamp is a small swamp in the Magdeburg district of Westerhüsen .

The wetland only covers an area of around 1,000 m². It is surrounded by agricultural land. A dirt road runs to the north and leads east from the Frohser Berg to the west.

The name of the swamp goes back to the Pötritz desert further east . Originally, the extent of the swamp is said to have been significantly larger and above all to have included areas to the north. However, this area was drained to gain arable land by creating the Pfingstwiesengraben .

Plants typical of wetlands such as cattails ( Typha ) grow in the swamp . Marsh pastures are also described in a report from the first half of the 20th century .
