The PWS33 Wyżeł was a Polish two-seat training aircraft for training pilots on twin-engine aircraft. The first flight took place in 1938, but only two prototypes had been completed by the outbreak of war .

history

In 1934, the Polish Air Force decided to replace its fighters and light bombers with a single, twin-engine type of aircraft in the future . These specifications led to the development of the PZL.38 Wilk , whose maiden flight took place in 1938. PWS was commissioned to design a comparatively inexpensive training aircraft that is similar in its design to the PZL.38 Wilk and should thus facilitate retraining on this model. After the first flight in November / December 1938, it was decided to start production. In the meantime, the PZL.38 Wilk was rejected due to disappointing performance. Work on the PWS33 Wyżeł was continued, however, as it was supposed to be used for training on the PZL.37 Łoś bomber plane .
