PATRAM (International Symposium on the P ackaging a nd T ransportation of R adioactive M aterials) is an international symposium for the storage and transport of radioactive materials. It is one of the most important forums worldwide for exchanges on this topic and is the only conference that deals exclusively with this topic.

The conference has been held every three years since 1980, alternating once in the USA and then in another country. The last meeting took place in New Orleans in 2019 , the next venue is Nice in 2022 . Experts from governments, industry and science take part in the symposia to exchange information on all aspects of the storage and transport of radioactive materials. Both military aspects, such as the transport and storage of nuclear weapons , as well as civilly used radioactive materials are dealt with. For example, the castor and other storage and transport containers for nuclear waste are discussed .

The symposium is funded by the US Department of Energy . It cooperates with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
