The PC Engine GT ( TurboExpress in the US) is a portable ( handheld ) version of NEC's PC Engine game console , released in 1990 at a price of $ 249.99. In Germany, the imported version cost around 700 DM and was therefore more than twice as expensive as Sega's Game Gear, which the press already considered expensive .

As the most advanced handheld console of its time, the PC Engine GT was compatible with all PC Engine games. The screen is as big as that of the Game Boy and can display 64 sprites in 482 colors at the same time. The device has 64 kilobytes of RAM and a Hudson Soft version of the 6502 , the Hu6280, with a choice of 1.79 or 7.16 MHz.

It can be used as a video monitor via an optional TV tuner . With the appropriate additional hardware, multiplayer games for two players are possible.

The console plays a role in the film Enemy of the State No. 1 ; Will Smith received the device along with a HuCard .
