Lists on the subject

The PP-19 Bison ( Pistolet Pulemjot Bison , Russian Пистолет-пулемёт Бизон ) is a Russian submachine gun that was developed between 1993 and 1995.

development

The PP-19 Bison was developed in Izhevsk . Its designers are Viktor Kalashnikov and Alexej Dragunow, both sons of well-known weapons developers in Russia. The basis of the PP-19 was the Kalashnikov weapon system, the components of which were modified for the construction of a submachine gun. The lock of an AK-74 was used (in a shortened version), as well as the pistol grip and the foldable shoulder rest . The combined fire selection and safety lever on the right is also the same as that of the AK.

The specialty of the weapon lies in the worm magazine , which is attached lengthways under the barrel . The developers used the magazine of the American Calico M950 , which ensures a very compact design. Regular bar magazines can also be used.
