Lammi [ lɑmːi ] ( Swedish Lampis ) is a former municipality in the southern Finnish landscape Kanta-Häme . At the beginning of 2009 it was incorporated into the town of Hämeenlinna together with the communities of Hauho , Kalvola , Renko and Tuulos . The municipality had an area of ​​611.32 km² (of which 73.69 km² inland water). The last population was 5,530.

The first written mention of the parish of Lammi comes from the year 1374. The village's medieval stone church was built at the beginning of the 16th century. The production of Sahti , a type of Finnish house beer, has a long tradition in Lammi, so that the place is sometimes referred to as the “Sahti community”.

Lammi is located in the Kanta-Häme landscape halfway between the towns of Hämeenlinna (37 km to the west) and Lahti (40 km to the east). The distance to the capital Helsinki is 120 km.
