Photosynthetically Active Photon Flux Density

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When Photosyntetically Active Photon Flux Density , short PFD or PPFD, is the current density of photons in the photosynthetically active solar spectrum . It is usually given in µmol (photons) / (m²s). It is above all a common unit in botany that is specified in the range of wavelengths from 400 to 700 nm. PFD is not to be confused with PAR ( Photosynthetically Active Radiation ).
