PSR 1257 + 12 e

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

PSR 1257 + 12 e is an extrasolar comet orbiting the pulsar PSR 1257 + 12 at a distance of 2300 light years .

Dimensions

Initially, the comet was counted as the fourth exoplanet around PSR 1257 + 12. However, the comet has at most 0.2 times the mass of Pluto and is not counted as a planet.

Emergence

Because PSR 1257 + 12 e orbits a pulsar and these arise in a huge supernova , it is possible that these are fragments of the explosion. Another possibility is that PSR 1257 + 12 e arose together with the other planets or existed before the supernova.
