Manfred Stenner

Manfred "Mani" Stenner (born April 4, 1954 in Hemer ; † July 17, 2014 in Bonn ) was the founder and, until his death, managing director of the network peace cooperative .

Life

Stenner came to Bonn at the age of 19, where he did his community service in a Catholic youth education center. He then took up studies in German, sociology, philosophy and pedagogy at the university there before he became the founder and later managing director of the Network Peace Cooperative. He was one of the organizers of the peace demonstration in Bonn's Hofgarten in 1983 . In 2001 he received together with the other first signatories of " desertion -Aufrufs" the Kosovo war the Fritz Bauer Prize . Stenner died of a heart attack in July 2014 at the age of 60.
