The peace report is the joint report of the German institutes for peace and conflict research . The Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC), the Leibniz Institute Hessian Foundation for Peace and Conflict Research (PRIF), the Institute for Development and Peace in Duisburg (INEF) and the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the university are involved in this Hamburg (IFSH). It has appeared regularly since 1987.

In the peace report, scientists from various disciplines (including political science, social science, geography, ethnology, natural sciences, regional sciences) examine international conflict reality from a peace strategy perspective. The opinion of the editors is based on their analyzes. It takes stock, highlights the results and formulates recommendations for peace and security policy in Germany and Europe.

The peace report is published annually by Transcript Verlag (until 2019 by LIT Verlag) and is available in bookshops. It is also available for download from the Peace Assessment website.

The peace report is presented every year in Berlin before the federal press conference . The editors discuss their findings and recommendations with Bundestag committees ( Foreign Affairs Committee , Defense, Economic Cooperation and Development, Human Rights), with relevant departments of ministries ( AA , Economic Cooperation and Development) and with interested working groups of the parliamentary parties as well as with representatives of the peace movement. Public events on selected topics take place in Berlin and nationwide. Overall, the peace report with its recommendations for action sees itself as an instrument of political advice. It received a lot of media attention.

The peace report is funded by the German Foundation for Peace Research (DSF).
