Paddy Blätsch (born May 22, 1989 ) is a Swiss composer , music producer and conductor from the Canton of Solothurn . He released his first album in 2013 with his score for the film All at once .

Life

Blätsch grew up in a musical family. As the son of a French horn player and a tuba player (later a conductor) he came into contact with music, especially brass music, at an early age. He first learned to play the recorder and then switched to the cornet and the trumpet . which he remained loyal to today. In 2018 he successfully completed his training to become a wind orchestra conductor at the BKMV.

Bands and clubs

Blätsch joined the Gösglingen youth music early on. At the age of 15 he was able to make music with the Niedergösgen Music Society, in which he still plays today. He gained his first big band experience with the Opus One Orchestra Laupersdorf .

With the Kleinformation Funky Feeling he played his own pieces during school. For the songs that Blätsch had been writing over the years, he was looking for a band that could set them to music. He found them in various musicians and that's how the band Smash Tram came about . After a few years this band failed due to the increasing tasks of each individual member in the profession. With the brass quintet Chaos Brass , Blätsch took a fresh start with a pure cover band. After a few years, various band members moved away for professional reasons, so that this project could not be continued either.

Since August 2018 he has headed the Musikgesellschaft Wangen bei Olten as a conductor and has already achieved initial successes with them.

Multi-instrumentalist / composer

After Blätsch no longer had a band project, he deepened his knowledge of composition and began to compose and produce film music. In 2011 he produced the short film time his first film score by Arunn Giretheren. In 2014 he founded Studio 13 Redblack in his basement , with which he had the opportunity to make instrumental and vocal recordings. Since Blätsch always remained true to the songwriting and composing of brass music in addition to the film music, but no longer had a band, he began to teach himself the missing instruments. So he learned to play the saxophone and the trombone and recorded his septet arrangements independently. In mid-2016, he dissolved Studio 13 Redblack and founded his own company, Klangfabrik Blättler.
