Paisley BC (full name: Paisley Basketball Club ) is a Scottish basketball club made from paisley .

history

The club was founded in 1962 as the Pinilee Basketball Club . From the beginning, the club focused on the youth and won the Scottish Cup for youth teams three years after the club was founded, which was won a second time in 1970 and a third time in 1975. Paisley was a particularly good place for very young basketball players to mature in peace. In the 1960s and 1970s, paisley players were always represented in the Scottish youth national teams.

The club moved into its new club house in Paisley in 1972 and was renamed the Paisley Basketball Club . In the meantime, the men's team had also arrived in professional basketball and established itself in the highest Scottish league, the Scottish Men’s National League , where they achieved good placements and qualified for the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1973 , which, however, followed in the first round. In the following season they achieved a participation in the Korać Cup , where the team also failed early.

In the 1976/77 season, the greatest successes in the club's history were achieved by winning the Scottish Basketball Cup and the runner-up in the league.

After many years in which the club disappeared from the top leagues and relied almost exclusively on its continued good youth work, an attempt was made in 2004 to unite with another team from Paisley to form the Glasgow Gators in order to attack the elite -Liga to include. This company was quickly terminated because no sponsors were found. In 2006 both clubs went their own way again.

The club is currently not participating in matches due to a lack of players.
