from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 9 cm anti-tank gun 50/57 was an anti-tank gun (Pak) of the Swiss Army . It is a license production of the 90mm Field Mount of the Belgian company Mecar SA.

The weapon was assigned to the infantry and MLT as a rifled gun and to the fortress troops as a bunkered gun . The 9 cm anti-tank gun in 1950 replaced the 4.7 cm infantry gun .

The 1957 acquired 250 guns Pak 57 had, in contrast to 1950 procured Pak 50 a Einschießgewehr in caliber 12.7 mm and a muzzle brake . If the muzzle brake was removed, Pak 50 ammunition could also be fired.

The muzzle velocity is 600 m / s. In 1965 the two guns were retrofitted with an infrared night sight .
