Pakka

The Pakka was a measure of volume in the French-East Indian Pondicherry .

The graduated cylinder was Parisian dimensions of 4 inches in diameter and 6 inches in height.

  • 2 pakka = 1 markal
  • 1 gallon = 24 pakka = 1809.557 Parisian cubic inches = 35.895 liters

As a Pakka-Retty it was a gold and silver weight in Bombay and also a gemstone weight in Bengal . The measure was called Retty and Ruttec. That was the most common name.
