history

Paktofonika was founded in 1998. Founding members were Magik (Piotr Łuszcz; previously caliber 44 ), Marcin (Marcin Błażej Lupa; CKM 13 Zilliardow), Rahim (Sebastian Salbert; 3X Klan) and Fokus (Wojciech Alszer). In 2000 the producers DJ Bambus and Sot joined the group. The group then signed a record deal with Gigant Records.

In the summer of 2000 the group was a guest in Witten , where they recorded the song 2 kilo together with the German hip-hop artists Lakmann One , Dike D, Onanon, LO & Kams , which was then released on Paktofonika's first album.

The band's debut album, Kinematografia , was released in late 2000. It is considered one of the most important albums in Polish hip-hop . A week after Kinematografia was released , Magik committed suicide. As a result, the band released an EP in 2001 called Jestem Bogiem (I Am God) in his honor. It contained u. a. Remixes of the song of the same name from Kinematografia . In 2002 Paktofonika's second and last album Archiwum Kinematografii came out with old, previously unreleased studio recordings. The group then officially broke up in 2003 with a big farewell concert, which was later released on DVD.

Rahim and Fokus then joined forces with DJ Bambus to form the Pokahontaz group and also devoted themselves to other projects, such as B. Pijani Powietrzem or Straho .

In 2012 the feature film Jesteś Bogiem was released , in which the short story of the group is retold. The film won several awards in Poland, for example B. with two Orzełs .
