Palacio de Ibarra

The 17th century mansion Palacio de Ibarra is located just outside the city of Brihuega in the province of Guadalajara ( Spain ). The Palacio de Don Luis is also nearby. The manor house was the scene of fierce fighting between advancing Italian troops, the Corpo Truppe Volontarie and International Brigades (BI-XI and BI-XII) during the Spanish Civil War . The battle of Guadalajara and the skirmish for the manor Palacio de Ibarra were taken up by the war correspondent at the time, Ernest Hemingway .
