Leitenberger Palace

The Palais Leitenberger is a 1871/72 in Vienna on behalf of Baron Friedrich Franz Josef von Leitenberger (1837-1899), Honorary President of the Association of cotton industrialists built Ringstraßenpalais at the address first , Parkring 16, corner Himmelpfortgasse. The architect was Ludwig Zettl . It is one of the last originally preserved palaces from the historicist era.

After the Second World War, the palace was used as an office and commercial building, but its condition deteriorated over the decades. The star parquet floors were rotten, solid wood doors were varnished, pictures were painted over. In the 1980s it was almost empty.

In the years 1991 to 1993, the Leitenberger Palace was faithfully restored by the new tenant Radisson SAS as part of the restoration work and structurally connected to the neighboring Henckel von Donnersmarck Palace . Until 2013 there was a hotel in the two palaces. Since then, the owner has had the two palaces rebuilt; from 2015 onwards, they will include a luxury hotel and luxury apartments.
