The Palace of Culture of Miners ( Russian Дворец культуры горняков ) is a landmark in the Kazakh city Karaganda . The building was constructed from 1940 to 1952. In the Palace of Culture miners numerous cultural events.

history

Construction of the building began in 1940 based on a design by local architects. During the Second World War , however, the construction work was suspended, so that the construction of the central part of the palace did not begin until 1950. Two years later, the Palace of Miners' Culture was opened.

In 1997, the Palace of Miners' Culture was privatized for 13.1 million tenge .

description

The Palace of Miners' Culture has a main building and two side wings. In the central main part of the building is the auditorium, which can accommodate up to 1000 people.

On the facade of the building there is a portico consisting of six octagonal columns. Six statues were placed on the portico. These statues depict different people: a miner , a builder, a shepherd with a lamb , a kolkhoz farmer , a singer with a dombra and a warrior.
