Palmar is a town in Uruguay .

geography

It is located in the north-eastern part of the Soriano Department in sector 11 . It is located on the south, left bank of the Río Negro , which forms the border with the neighboring Río Negro . The Cerro del Fancés is located on its opposite bank . Nearby settlements are Villa Darwin in the west southwest and El Tala in the southeast. The de las Pajas , a left tributary of the Río Negro , has its source in Palmar .
