Palm bunny
In German customs , the palm bunny is a figure who brought the children a single, hard-boiled chicken egg colored in onion skins on Palm Sunday or on Palm Thursday (a seldom used term for Maundy Thursday ) . In contrast to the Easter bunny , this custom is seldom observed today and has been forgotten in many places. Instead of the palm hare, the palm donkey is also mentioned as the bearer.
The custom of the palm hare is mainly cultivated today in the Odenwald , Hessisches Ried and Rheinhessen regions as well as in the Fulda region.
