The Palo Alto County Courthouse in Emmetsburg is the Justice and Administration Building ( Courthouse ) of Palo Alto County in the north of the US -amerikanischen state of Iowa .

The current building is the second courthouse in Palo Alto County, founded in 1851. The first courthouse was built from 1958 to 1866 in the now defunct Paoli settlement. In 1875 the county seat was moved to Emmetsburg.

Today's Courthouse is a three-story building built in 1880 in the Victorian style to a design by the architect B. J. Bartlett . After the facade initially consisted of yellow bricks, red clinker bricks were used in a renovation in the 1920s. In the 1960s, the dome and arches over the windows were removed. Extensive expansions and renovations in later times allowed the house to be used up to the present day.
