Palvė

Palve is an ancient landscape name of Baltic origin that occurs in East Prussia . The Prussian word palvė means ' heather '.

You can find the word on old land maps, for example the Tragheimer Palve as a suburb of Königsberg .

Heinrich Eichen uses the term in his song: "In the evening, moose step out of the dunes, move from the Palve to the beach, when the night like a good mother softly covers her cloth on the lagoon and land."
