The pilgrimage church of Panagia Tripiti

The church Panagia Trypiti ( Greek Παναγία Τρυπητή ) is an Orthodox pilgrimage site in Greece . The church is near Egio in the Peloponnese . On the Friday after Easter, the festival of the icon of the Mother of God, The Life Giving Source ( Greek Ζωοδόχου Πηγής ) is celebrated. The old icon of the Mother of God is the destination of many pilgrims because it is said to have miraculous powers. The temple in its current form was built in the 19th century.
