Panaitios of Leontinoi
Panaitios was a tyrant of the ancient Greek city of Leontinoi in Sicily towards the end of the 7th century BC. Chr.
Panaitios was the first tyrant of Sicily known by name. During social unrest in Leontinoi he was supported by the poorer classes against the aristocratic cavalry. So he could about 615 or 609 BC. Seize power in Leontinoi and become sole ruler.
