Clemens Börsig
Clemens Börsig (born July 27, 1948 in Achern ) is a German bank manager.
Life
Börsig did his military service as a reserve officer candidate in the Bundeswehr (last rank: lieutenant in the reserve). He then studied mathematics and business administration at the University of Mannheim . In 1975 he received his doctorate on the subject of "The Implementation of Operations Research in Organizations". In 1977 he started his professional career at Mannesmann and in 1985 he moved to Robert Bosch GmbH . In 1997 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of RWE . In 1999 he moved to Deutsche Bank AG , where he became CFO in 2001. From 2002 to 2006 he was responsible additionally as Chief Risk Officer , the risk management of the bank to succeed Thomas R. Fischer .
After Rolf-E. Breuer had resigned from the chairmanship of the supervisory board of Deutsche Bank because of his role in the Kirch affair, Börsig was appointed a member of the supervisory board by the Frankfurt district court with effect from May 4, 2006, and was elected chairman. He held this office until May 2012. As compensation for his old contract, Börsig received € 14.7 million.
Börsig is a member of the supervisory boards of Daimler AG , Linde AG and the Emerson Electric Company .
Until 2007 Börsig was a member of the supervisory board of Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG.
After Börsig had served the sponsoring association of the Schule Schloss Salem for a long time in the role of treasurer, he temporarily held the office of chairman, which he resigned in June 2010. In addition, Börsig is currently treasurer of the Society of Friends and Supporters of the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf .
Börsig is a member of the advisory board of the Federal Cultural Foundation , chairman of the board of the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft in the Federation of German Industries (BDI) eV , member of the board of trustees of the Society of Friends of Bayreuth eV, the Society for the Promotion of the Munich Opera Festival, the Kulturstiftung Festspielhaus Baden-Baden eV and was chairman of the supervisory board of the ESMT European School of Management and Technology until September 15, 2016 and member of the administrative board of the Institute for Religious Works (Vatican Bank) from 2014 to 2016 .
