Pandatheruppu or Pandatharippu or Pandaththarippu or Pandaththeruppu ( Tamil : பண்டத்தரிப்பு, Sinhala : පණ්ඩතරිප්පුව) is a small town in northern Sri Lanka . It is located in Jaffna District . It is about 20 km from Jaffna City. In the 19th century it was a mission site of the American Ceylon Mission (ACM). Dr. John Scudder founded Asia's first center for western medicine in this city. There are also a few schools established by the ACM, such as churches and Hindu temples.
