Pangai
Pangai is a place in Tonga that is considered the main town of the Ha'apai group of islands. About 1740 inhabitants live in the place on the west side of Lifuka .
Facts
The center of the village is dominated by the Siasi Katolika Catholic Church and Holopeka Road by the harbor. There are also some shops and a bank here. Most of the houses in the village were built in the colonial style.
The Lifuka Iceland Airport , the airport of the island, about five kilometers north of the town.
Attractions
The Methodists - missionary Shirley Waldemar Baker , who Tonga's King I. George Tupou as prime minister worked in the country, died on 16 November 1903 in Pangai. His grave and a memorial in his honor can now be seen in the Pangais cemetery.
