Topped panini

Panini (Italian, plural of Panino ) are a typical Italian pastry . These are small breads (ital. Pane ), but they are only partially comparable with the German bread rolls .

They are available regionally in different shapes and sizes, and the dough is also artfully twisted in plaits or other shapes. They usually consist of wheat flour, but sometimes also of durum wheat semolina, corn flour or mixtures.

Panini are often topped with ham, cheese, sausage and salad and serve as a small snack.
