Paola Fantato

Paola Fantato (born September 13, 1959 in Zevio , Province of Verona ) is an Italian archer and Paralympic champion.

Fantato was diagnosed with polio at the age of eight and has been in a wheelchair since then. In the 1980s she began to practice archery and was soon successful in related competitions. She won a bronze medal at the 1988 Summer Paralympic Games in Seoul and finally won gold four years later . In 1996 she took part in the Summer Olympics in Atlanta as a member of the Italian Olympic team .

Between 1988 and 2004 Fantato won five golds, one silver and two bronze medals.
