Paolo Agostini

Paolo Agostini (* around 1583 in Vallerano ; † October 3, 1629 in Rome ) was an Italian organist , conductor and composer of the early Baroque.

Paolo Agostini received his training from Giovanni Bernardino Nanino and Gregorio Allegri and worked in various churches in Rome as an organist and conductor. Finally, he also held these offices at St. Peter's Basilica as the successor to Vincenzo Ugolini .

He created a number of works of sacred music and, with his effective and sonorous compositions, is considered to be one of the founders of the Roman Baroque.
