The two-storey , eaves brick building was built around the middle of the 19th century as a warehouse ; it belonged to the house at Heilgeiststrasse 43 (demolished).

On the ground floor it has a flat arched entrance and a round arched gate passage.

The house is located in the core area of the city area recognized by UNESCO as a world cultural heritage site of the “ historic old towns of Stralsund and Wismar ”. It is entered in the list of architectural monuments in Stralsund from 1999 with the number 634.

Today the former warehouse building at Papenstrasse 25 houses four apartments.
