Sinsleben paper mill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Sinsleben paper mill is a former mill on the Selke in the Sinsleben district of Ermsleben .

history

The watermill came into the possession of Friedrich Wilhelm Keferstein (* 1785), a cousin of Christian Keferstein , in 1838 . In 1846 the grinding mill was converted into a paper mill. From 1912 to 1924 the mill was part of the Groß Särchen cardboard paper mill . The last systems were sold in 1931. After the Second World War , the paper mill was converted into a mineral grinder in the Soviet occupation zone, where grinding wheel residues from all over the GDR were delivered and recycled. A concrete molding plant was built on the site on the other side of the Selke. The mineral grinder survived the fall of the wall thanks to the recycling technology. Grinding wheels will continue to be recycled there, but sandblasting and cutting sand from all over the world will also be sold. Mineralmahlwerk GmbH has been part of the listed WGI Heavy Minerals Incorporated, which is based in America, since 2004. This group also includes a quarry in Emerald Creek and International Waterjet Parts Inc.
