The Papua New Guinea rattan armor is a protective weapon from Papua New Guinea .

description

The Papua New Guinea rattan armor is made from rattan fibers . The rattan strands are split open and the resulting fibers are spun into thin threads . The threads are twisted into ropes and sewn together in the shape of the armor pieces. These individual parts are then put together to form the tank.

The armor covers the abdomen, chest, sides and back. At the front, the breastplate can be tied to match; it is open at the top towards the head and allows arm freedom. The back is elongated to protect the head from blows and projectiles, so most bullets hit the buttocks and calves.

Armor made of coconut fiber material and also raised back of the head protection can be found in Kiribati .
