Papyrus 42 (named after Gregory-Aland with Sigel 42 ) is a Greek papyrus fragment from the Gospel of Luke , which is based on palaeography on the 6./7. Century.

The Greek text of the Codex represents the Alexandrian text type with some Byzantine readings. Kurt Aland placed him in Category II .
