Papyrus Carlsberg 1a

The Papyrus Carlsberg 1a (also pCarlsberg 1a, PC1a ) with the associated extension PSI inv. I 92 contains texts on the Groove book that come from Tebtynis from the second century AD . Today it is in the Egyptological Institute of the University of Copenhagen . The content from PC1a was first published in 1960.

It is a hieratic text with demotic translation and demotic commentary. On the recto , five columns , each with 44 characters, are only preserved in fragments. The other texts are lost. The dimensions cannot be reconstructed, but are similar in length to PC1 . The text includes the groove image and the dean chapter . The total scope of the treated text cannot be reconstructed either. By 2007, four of fifteen fragments had been published in Egyptian Astronomical Texts (EAT), Volume 1, the other eleven fragments have not yet been published.
