Parachordoma

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A parachordoma is a malignant tumor and is one of the myoepithelial carcinomas of the soft tissue.

The disease was first described in 1955 as a peripheral chordoma and has had its current name since 1977. In view of the number of cases, it is a very rare tumor disease. Although the course is often benign , metastases are rare but have been described. Surgical removal as well as radio and chemotherapy (e.g. according to the VIP-E scheme) are possible therapies .
