Stare Prażuchy is a village with a Schulzenamt of the rural community Ceków-Kolonia in the powiat Kaliski of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

history

The village was founded in 1774 and 1780 on the grounds of the village of Ceków, when the so-called "Olędrzy" (see Hauländer ) were settled by Arnold Byszewski and Krzysztof Celiński. The colony behind the pond called Prażuchy was originally called Cekowskie Nowe or Cekowskie Nowe Olędry and was inhabited by at least 8 Lutheran settlers, 6 of whom had German and 2 Polish surnames. After the second partition of Poland , it belonged to South Prussia from 1793 to 1807 . In 1809 it came to the Duchy of Warsaw and in 1815 to the newly formed Russian-dominated Congress Poland .

Similarly, by 1791 dozen of Dutch settlements arose in the area: see German language islands in Kalischer Land . In 1808 Prażuchy became the seat of an evangelical parish, as the first in the Kalischer Land with a seat in a village. Initially, it comprised the localities of Ceków, Stary Ceków, Prażuchy (today's Nowe Prażuchy was not created until later , while the old colony with the church became Stare Prażuchy ), Pławnia, Zakrzyn, Kuźnice, Czachules, Przespolew and Jaszczury. In the 1830s Sadykierz and the Poroże Colony were annexed. In the middle of the 19th century this parish was quite wealthy and had 8 cemeteries.

After the end of the First World War , Stare Prażuchy came to Poland. Around October 26, 1939, the Kalischer area was annexed and incorporated into the German Empire as part of the new Posen Reichsgau , later Wartheland . From 1975 to 1998 Stare Prażuchy was part of the Kalisz Voivodeship .
