Paradeism mill

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Paradeismühle is a listed watermill on the Röllbach (Main) near Klingenberg am Main .

history

The half-timbered building in the Röllbachtal was built in 1798 as a pure flour mill. The stone inscription at the door entrance in the courtyard reads:

In 1798 Franz Nonnemacher ran this building
with pleasure, Regina his wife.
He diligently placed him
here at Paradei s.

Franz Nonnemacher's daughter-in-law soon found the location of the mill far outside the city too boring. She sold this and instead took over the village mill in town. The later owner Georg Lang also had a sawmill installed. This is where the name granulator came from. By using the flour and sawing wood twice, the mill was now profitable. His son Emil Lang also learned the miller's trade , but in 1925 he also set up a small economy . The cutting mill became a popular destination for school classes and families. The mill stream flowed through the hallway in a bed of sandstone, which attracted a lot of attention from the children. Since the Lang family had no male descendants, the mill was sold in 1961 by Trude Kachel, née Lang.

Today the Köhlich family runs a conference hotel and restaurant in the Paradeismühle.
