Paracrine secretion
As paracrine secretion (from ancient Greek παρά para , German , next to ' ; κρίνειν krinein , German , separate' , give ') refers to the Sekretionsmodus of cells in which the votes hormones (eg. And hormone-like substances growth factors ) on Cells in the immediate vicinity act. In contrast to endocrine secretion , the hormones do not reach their target cells via the blood .
Paracrine secretion processes control functions and differentiation processes in many organs and tissues .
There are also cells that are both endocrine and paracrine, such as the Leydig cells of the testicle .
