Parapsychological advice center

The parapsychological counseling center or parapsychological counseling center of the Scientific Society for the Promotion of Parapsychology (WGFP) in Freiburg is a public service to offer targeted and appropriate information in the field of parapsychology and unusual experiences. The advice center is unique in Germany. The advice center was founded in 1989 and subsidized by the state of Baden-Württemberg. The counseling center is managed by Walter von Lucadou . At the end of 2019, funding from the state of Baden-Württemberg was discontinued. The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport no longer has any budget at its disposal because it is no longer responsible for the issues.

tasks

The counseling center offers advice on the following topics: unusual human experiences, occult practices, psychotechnics, parapsychology, clairvoyants, fortune tellers, magicians, media, spiritual healing, alternative healing methods, spooky, magic, witchcraft, problems with sects, esotericism in general and spiritual crises. Advice is usually given by telephone via a hotline and is treated confidentially. Around 3,000 inquiries are processed and around 100 information events are held each year.

Advanced training

Part of the work consists of training psychological, psychiatric and educational specialists in advanced training events and supporting them in their work. Public relations work is carried out through lectures and seminars etc. a. at adult education centers, schools, technical colleges and universities.

research

The counseling center collects reports and experiences and uses them for its own parapsychological research projects.
