Paraskeva

Paraskeva ( Cyrillic Параскева) is a female given name that is predominantly used by Serbs , Macedonians , Bulgarians , Romanians and Greeks .

Origin and meaning

Derived from the Greek word paraskeuē , it means the prepared or the finished (see also Paraskevi ). Mostly Paraskeva is hung after the names of saints. However, there are also several saints of the Eastern Church of the name, including Sveta Petka Paraskeva, who is venerated by the Serbs.
