Pardon (procession)
The pardon ("request for forgiveness") is a term used especially in Brittany for a procession .
On the occasion of local saints' festivals , the faithful gather in the church and then follow the procession, at the end of which mostly traditional presentations and a folk festival take place.
During the "sea pardon", the crowd pulls to the harbor , where the ships are blessed .
On the occasion of the pardons there are also pilgrimages . The Breton Tro-Breizh ("Bretagne Tour"), for example, represents a more than 500 kilometer long pilgrimage for the faithful to the graves of the seven Breton founding saints in Dol-de-Bretagne , Saint-Malo , Saint-Brieuc , Tréguier and Saint-Pol -de-Léon , Quimper and Vannes .
