Parika is a port community at the mouth of the Essequibos in the Essequibo Islands-West Demerara province in the northern part of Guyana . The community is known for its ferry services operated by the Ministry of Transportation to and from the Essequibo Islands and West Demerara. There are comparatively many banks in Parika for the region. The place is also the starting point for many bus connections to the surrounding area.

According to the 2002 census, a total of 4,106 people lived in Parika, an increase of 41% compared to the 1991 population.
