Parkbahn in the Neckar floodplains
The Parkbahn in the Neckarauen is a parking system operated by the association Dampfbahner Plochingen with 127 mm (5 inches) and 184 mm (7.25 inches) gauge , which was built in 1998 on the Neckarauen, the place where the State Garden Show took place at the time .
The route is a total of 1.5 kilometers long, of which 1.2 kilometers are used regularly. The journey time is approx. 10 minutes. In contrast to most of the other park railways, which only have a single oval track, the park railroad in the Neckar floodplains has several nested circuits.
The operator association Dampfbahner Plochingen eV , founded in 1980, has eight steam locomotives, of which the 1: 3 scale Austrian U and the Plochingen locomotive , a replica of the "Heilbronn" locomotive, regularly pull the visitor trains that run every weekend from Easter Monday to October run.
