Parkbench Drive (PBD) is a street rock band from Austria .

history

The band was founded in 2008 in Upper Styria and consisted of the original line-up Christian Hollik, Bernhard Scheikl, Michael Sägmüller and Michael Scheder. Like many bands, Parkbench Drive had some casting problems early in their career and changed drummers and guitarists.

In the current line-up of Christian Hollik (Chris), Bernhard Scheikl (Hatl), Andreas Ebner (Andi) and Christoph Scharfegger (Christoph), the musicians have, according to interviews and recordings, a line-up in the band that makes them inseparable friends and musicians.

Right from the start, the band tried to write their own songs and performed for the first time on August 9, 2008 at the Bruck City Festival and then in “Jörgis Bar” Mitterdorf / Mürz Valley. In Styria in particular , the band managed to make a name for themselves in a short time through many concerts.

In 2010 the band released a demo album called Confessions . This was followed by bigger and bigger concerts, in the same year Parkbench Drive entered into a cooperation with producer Gwenael Damman, the former bassist of Christina Stürmer and Nina Hagen . The musicians recorded three singles with the new producer. The first single The Escape was released in 2011 and was very well received on Austrian radio stations.

At the end of 2011 the single I'm not scared followed and in October 2012 the debut album ... for the broken hearts , which was followed by a promotion and concert tour. Due to the large number of fans and the constant support from fans, the single I'm not scared promptly landed in the Austria Top 40 single charts and stayed there for over eight weeks. They also occupied number 1 in the rock charts for weeks. In mid-2015 the band released their new single Right Here Alone , which was played on radio stations across Austria.

In 2016 the third studio album called A Signal Light was released . With the album Parkbench Drive also released the single of the same name A Signal Light with a music video that shows the band from their private side and while touring. This single is also broadcast across Austria.

Surname

The band name is based on the incident that the band's bass player rammed his car into a park bench in front of the rehearsal room. The musicians therefore decided on the name "Parkbench Drive".
