Parliamentary Assistant is a personal employee or scientific officer of Deputies .

European Parliament

In the European Parliament , many MEPs employ parliamentary assistants. The parliamentary assistant's practical setting is made through his accreditation to the European Parliament. At the beginning of each parliamentary term, the Quaestors set the maximum number of assistants that an individual Member can accredit.

When they take up their duties, the accredited assistants submit a written declaration stating their professional activities and all other paid offices or activities.

Lithuania

In the Lithuanian Seimas Parliament , one MP is allowed to have an unlimited number of assistants. The state paid for the work of three fully employed staff as officials in the public service . The Seimas member's assistant secretary (lit. Seimo nario padėjėjas-sekretorius ) is an official of political-personal trust and can be hired and exonerated at any time.
