The parliamentary elections in Monaco 2018 for the Conseil National took place on February 11, 2018 in the southern European state of Monaco .

Electoral system

Voters can either choose an electoral list or variegate candidates from multiple electoral lists . The 16 candidates with the most votes move into the Conseil National, while the remaining eight seats are allocated on the principle of proportional representation to the parties that received more than five percent of the vote .

Election result

The Primo! Party, founded in 2017 by the ex-President of the Conseil National Stéphane Valeri ! Priorité Monaco , won an overwhelming victory. She was able to win 21 seats in the 24-member National Council and ousted the previous ruling party Horizon Monaco (HM) under the leadership of Béatrice Fresko-Rolfo . On February 22, 2018, the new Conseil National re-elected Stéphane Valeri as its President after 2010. Housing issues and pension reform were among the most important issues in the election campaign. Primo! promised to put in place a much-needed plan to provide more housing and protect civil servants' pensions.
